Dr Sean Butterworth has extensive experience in research and development of advanced and functional materials. From nanomaterial fabrication and formulation to printed electronics, microfabrication and microwave materials. This was built up over many years from a PhD at the University of Manchester under Prof. Stephen Yeates, to university spins outs and into BAE Systems. Over the last eight years at BAE Systems, Sean has technically managed and supported large advanced materials projects in defence and aerospace with a focus on low TRL research through to higher TRL development. Areas of interest are functional and smart structures, fabrication and production of antennas and sensor systems, for both structural and body worn applications, as well as device fabrication for microelectronics packaging to MEMS based sensor systems.
