Nikki has designed advanced satellite systems within the Space Systems division of Airbus Defence and Space in the UK for the past 20 years. She has worked both for the parent company and also with subsidiary SSTL. She is an early phase end to end mission specialist, and has focused on early mission development and enabling technologies for a lot of her career, including the missions for ESA, NASA, UK Government and Commercial Customers. She has a strong passion for sustainable use of space, and campaigns for awareness about better design practices to reduce the impact we make on the space environment. Her experience spans across the full range of space-based ISR/EO mission types, In-Orbit Servicing and Manufacturing, Space Situational Awareness, Science and Exploration. She also works closely with the downstream operations and processing teams in the UK to plan for data downlink (including inter-satellite links), data fusion, integration with other sources, and to plan for integration of AI developments within this space.
