Chair of the Advisory Council, The Data Centre Alliance
Liam P. Round is Chairman of the Advisory Council at The Data Centre Alliance, where he helps shape strategic initiatives across the Association and supports its continued development and growth, with a particular focus on good governance, accountability and industry collaboration. With more than 25 years’ experience in power generation and over 15 years working within the data centre sector, Liam has developed extensive international experience across Europe, the Middle East and the Americas. His career spans power generation, strategic planning, distribution networks, EPC and design, engineering, consultancy, business leadership and strategic alliances, giving him a broad perspective on the evolving demands of critical infrastructure and data centre power. Liam has worked with organisations including DEIF, Caterpillar, Sulzer and MAN, contributing to some of the world’s most complex and demanding projects across military, airport, healthcare and data centre applications. His experience encompasses both the technical and commercial sides of the industry, with a particular focus on how power infrastructure, people, technology and leadership need to evolve together. A trained Systems Engineer based in the UK, Liam holds Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Status in Data Centre Design and is a Project Management Professional (PMP®). He is also an active advocate for the transition towards more sustainable and resilient power infrastructure, leadership development, Veterans in Datacentres and greater collaboration across the data centre industry.
