Dr Jalal Bagherli currently chairs Probe Test Solutions Limited (PTSL), a high growth semiconductor test technology company based in Scotland. He is also the non executive chairman of Nanoco Technologies board, a company specialising in creation and production of Cadmium free Quantum Dots for the electronics industry. In addition he is the co-chair of the UK government Semiconductor Advisory Panel and it’s recently launched UK Semiconductor Centre. Jalal was formerly the CEO of Dialog Semiconductor Plc, an industry leader in mobile power management, from 2005 and until it completed its exit via sale to Renesas Corporation in September 2021 for €4.8bn. Prior to that, Jalal was CEO of Alphamosaic, a Cambridge based start-up specialising in mobile video and multimedia processors, a company acquired by Broadcom. Earlier in his career, Jalal worked at Texas Instruments for 9 years in engineering management and spent 6 years as VP Semiconductor business for Sony Europe. Jalal holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Electronic Engineering from Essex University and a PhD in Electronics from University of Kent at Canterbury, England. In 2025, Jalal was awarded a CBE in King’s New Year’s honours list for the services to the UK semiconductor industry.
