Chris joined the UK Civil Service from the tech sector and has since held senior roles across business, trade and technology policy. His career has included developing Industrial and Digital Strategies and leading Digital Economy and Technology policy across Asia Pacific from the British High Commission in Singapore. As Deputy Director for Semiconductors at the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (BIST), Chris leads the Government's work to grow and strengthen the UK's semiconductor sector, supporting innovation, economic growth and national security. This includes developing and delivering the UK's AI Hardware Plan, helping to secure Britain’s future capability in chips and the semiconductor technologies that underpin AI.
