FreeForm Photonics
Calum Ross is a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow at Heriot-Watt University, and Co-Founder of FreeForm Photonics. His research background is centred around laser-based microfabrication of optical glasses for applications including fibre optic sensors, astrophotonic instruments, speciality optical fibre and healthcare photonics.
FreeForm Photonics is a prospective spinout from Heriot-Watt, with a mission to reduce photonics manufacturing bottlenecks through innovative design, freeform optical surface fabrication and precision built-in alignment. FreeForm reduces complex alignment and assembly needs by fabricating integrated, all-glass optical components and devices. They offer services in precision 3D glass microfabrication, laser welding, waveguide writing and laser polishing.
