Amar Abid-Ali is Chief Executive Officer of Novomorphic, a system-first semiconductor and systems design company based in Cardiff. Novomorphic focuses on secure edge AI systems that sense, connect, compute and act in constrained environments where power, thermal, RF, latency, reliability and security requirements shape the design from the start. Amar was one of the key architects of the venture and now leads the company as it builds secure edge AI capability across advanced digital, mixed-signal and compound semiconductor design. Before joining Novomorphic, Amar was Chief Commercial Officer at CSA Catapult, where he led strategic partnerships, investor engagement and commercial delivery across deep tech sectors including AI, future telecoms, defence, net zero and mobility. He played a central role in securing multi-party investment, delivering R&D and commercial programmes, and launching the CSA Investor Summit. Earlier in his career, Amar held senior business development roles at Future Electronics and Avnet, scaling revenues across EMEA and building cross-functional commercial teams. He holds an MSc in Data Communications from Brunel University and a BEng (Hons) in Electronics and Communications Engineering.
