Amar Abid-Ali
Amar Abid-Ali is Chief Executive Officer of Novomorphic, a system-first semiconductor design house based in Cardiff backed by Cadence, CSA Catapult and the Welsh Government. As on of the key architects of the venture, Amar now leads the company at a pivotal moment for UK semiconductor capability. Building out system solutions in advanced digital, mixed-signal and compound design infrastructure for national and international clients.
Before taking the helm at Novomorphic, Amar was Chief Commercial Officer at CSA Catapult, where he led strategic partnerships, investor engagement and commercial delivery across deep tech sectors including AI, quantum, future telecoms, defence, net zero and mobility. He played a central role in securing multi-party investment, delivering high-impact R&D and commercial programmes and launching the CSA Investor Summit.
Earlier in his career, Amar held senior business development roles at Future Electronics and Avnet, scaling revenues across EMEA and building cross-functional commercial teams.
He holds an MSc in Data Communications from Brunel University and a BEng (Hons) in Electronics and Communications Engineering.
