Octric Semiconductors is a new name in the compound semiconductor foundry space that has been manufacturing compound semiconductors for a variety of global markets for 25 years. It's primary focus is RF and microwave devices. However, the breadth of products manufactured spans both electronic and photonic components employed in defence and telecoms applications. Located in Newton Aycliffe, UK, Octric occupies a 30,000 m2 facility built in 1991 with volume capability, and over 1.5 billion devices shipped from its facility.
Comprised of 10,000 m2 manufacturing space on a 20 Hectare site; which includes a 4,800 m2, purpose-built Class 100 manufacturing facility - fully equipped to produce state of the art compound semiconductor products.
The facility has manufacturing lines for 150mm (6”) GaAs RF and 76mm (3”) InP optoelectronic formats; Octric holds ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001 certifications.
Octric has a bright new path ahead following the recent significant investment from the UK Ministry of Defence, and is focussed on developing the next generation of semiconductors!
