Kāhu SiliconBio is an early-stage technology company based in Edinburgh, pioneering biohybrid interface technology. We develop devices that embed bioengineered microorganisms into novel silicon chips for advance liquid chemical sensing. These bioelectronic chips provide real-time, point-of-use, quantitative readout of trace chemicals in liquids, in a format compatible with any conventional electronics. Our bioengineered system means we can tailor the devices for sensivity to a wide range of naturally-occuring and synthetic chemical targets, with applications in environmental, agricultural, industrial and medical liquid diagnostics.
