Compound Hound is giving machines a sense of smell. Our rugged, solid-state electronic nose combines broad-spectrum volatile sensing with the discrimination to tell closely related compounds apart - a task that otherwise needs multiple specialised sensors or laboratory analysis. Instead of functionalised surface chemistries, it gathers information-rich signatures of the chemical environment: no fragile coating to drift in the field, no wet-chemistry step between prototype and scalable production, no hardware locked to a single application. One sensor serves food and agriculture, consumer appliances and robotics - and the same rich signatures make it a data engine for physical AI, turning everyday environments into chemical training data that existing portable sensors struggle to capture. Compound Hound is a Cambridge University spinout.
